I’ve been asked whIch is the recipe I cook the most for my family. 🧐
Bolognese sauce pasta! No doubt. I always have some jars in the freezer with slightly different versions (traditional beef/sausage and tomatoes + vegetable loaded + meatless) ready to be thawed and combined with some pasta in no time!

One family, one recipe. That’s my motto! This lo

One family, one recipe. That’s my motto! This lovely mahi mahi fish fillet can be served to little ones and adults at the same time with just few little tips. 😉

Let’s cook it first.

In a large skillet I heated 3 Tbsp olive oil with 4 garlic cloves sliced. When the garlic gets a lovely golden color, it should take 2 min, add 5 medium ripen sweet tomatoes (4 cups) chopped. Add also 4 Tbsp black taggiasca olives and 2 Tbsp capers. Stir and cook at medium heat for 8min to reduce the sauce. Taste and check to see if the sauce needs a pinch of salt (the capers should give enough) and maybe a splash of milk if the tomatoes are too acidic. Transfer the sauce in a bowl and add in the skillet 2 Tbsp of olive oil and the fish cut in sticks. Cook 3-4 min on each side. Adjust with salt. When the fish is almost cooked add the tomato sauce back and cook for 2 min. Serve the fish with some fresh cilantro on top.
Toddler plate tips:
- use a divide plate (this lovely fox is from @elkandfriends ) and separate the fish fillet from the sauce
- break the fish in toddler bite size
- remove the capers from the tomato sauce (too strong flavor) but leave some olives
- cut the olives in half for little ones
- for a smoother texture you can purée the tomato sauce
- I also added some rainbow beets as a side . Any veggie or fruit will work!
- cilantro leaves. I placed few of them in the corner to let the kids taste them. My little one likes to eat them like this.

Cooking one recipe for the whole family and simply adapting it to your toddlers with few easy and quick steps will definitely save you tons of time and prevent an a la carte menu!

And it's 8! 🥳🎂🌈☘️
I love you from your toes to your nose! Your smile, positive attitude and infinite energy are a precious treasure to me. Happy Birthday to my little rascal.

He asked to celebrate with his favorite "Bakery Chocolate Muffins". Soft crust outside and a lovely moist inside.
The procedure is a bit different from the usual one. Check it out on my blog https://www.buonapappa.net/bakery-chocolate-muffins/ (active link in my bio) or in the highlights.

INGREDIENTS:
5 Tbsp water
1/2 cup butter
1 cup + 2 Tbsp flour (GF works too!!)
2 Tbsp milk of your choice
2 medium eggs
1/2 cup maple syrup (or sugar)
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3oz. dark chocolate chips (a generous handful)

PROCEDURE:
In a small pot add the water and butter, bring to boil, reduce to minimum and add the flour. Mix quickly with a whisk to create a smooth silky paste. Remove from the heat and place in a bowl. Add the milk and keep mixing with the whisk. Add the eggs, one at the time and keep whisking, Add the dry ingredients (baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar, cocoa). Combine well. Lastly, add the chocolate chips (save a dozen or so for the decoration on top). Fill a jumbo muffin tin with the batter. Fill more or less half of the hole. Place a few chocolate chips on top. With a spatula make an X incision on the top of the muffin simply pressing it down. This trick will help the muffins raise properly. Bake the preheated oven to 400F for 25min. Toothpick rule works here too!
