Pasta with Broccoli and Sausage, my older one's fa

Pasta with Broccoli and Sausage, my older one's favorite recipe. To be sincere the whole family enjoys it :-)
It's an easy lunch or dinner family idea ready in no time. The pasta sauce gets ready while the pasta boils. The kind of sausage you will use is very important as will decide the overall flavor of the recipe. I tried Bratwurst sausage (our favorite so far), sweet italian (I haven't find yet one that is truly Italian), breakfast link (not bad) and chicken apple (that's a good one). Do you have a favorite one?

Here the recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. short shaped pasta of your choice (I used rotini, fusilli)
2 broccoli heads (medium), florets only, chopped (you can use frozen too, 4 cups)
1/2 white onion, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbsp olive oil
4 sausages
1/2 tsp sea salt
4 shiitake mushrooms, chopped
1/4 cup broth

PROCEDURE:
In a large pot cook the pasta following the directions on the packaging. Reserve 1 cup of starchy boiling water.
In a skillet heat the olive oil with the garlic. Cook for 2 min at medium/high up until the garlic is golden brown. Add the sausage and cook for 4 min up until almost cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet add the mushrooms and the broccoli and 1/4 cup broth (or warm water). Adjust with salt and cook for 8-10 min. Add the sausage back in the skillet, stirt and cook for 1 min. Turn the heat off and wait for the pasta to be ready. Drain the pasta and combine it with the broccoli and mushroom sauce. Serve with some grated parmesan cheese on top. Enjoy!

Oh yessss, I have my blue days where I feel I'm a

Oh yessss, I have my blue days where I feel I'm a disaster as a mom too, when kids are jumping on the walls, talking back, not listening, refusing every food I offer them and I ask myself what I did wrong. Parenting doesn't come with an instruction manual, it'a a learn by doing process, with ups and downs and it doesn't matter how old the kids are. 😉
For all the parents that are having a blue day today, take a big, long breath in and let it go out.
Do it again. I just want to remind you that there is no perfect mom or dad, they only exist on Instagram and Pinterest and we all know that it's not real. 😆
What you are doing is actually pretty great. Give yourself some praise. Everything will be ok. If it's not ok, it's not the end. You got this.

For snack today I’ve been asked for a green smoothie and green smoothie will be!
Pineapple, kiwi, banana, spinach, hemp seeds, coconut milk. Refreshing, delicately sweet and with a lovely tropical punch.
So many nutrients in just one sip: vitamin C, K, A, iron, potassium. A lovely snack and a natural immune system boosting combo.
