November 8, 2013 at 3:21 pmHi,
first of all i want to say thank you for posting all those wonderful recipes.
my son is 6 months old and i start to give him solids. But i think I am giving him too much.
the pediatric told me that there is no such amount to follow .
But then i see your site and you only put 3 to 4 ingredients in a meal. I kinda give him the (italian mix) ( carrot, swt potato, courgette, onion, caulliflour, broccoli, chicken/turkey/beef) and sometimes I replace 2 ingredients with pumpkin and peas to make a different taste.
I would like to know your opinion.
thank you

November 13, 2013 at 10:34 pmHi Louise!
sorry I replied from my cell and I didn’t see your question 🙂
I think you’re doing great.
Every main meal (lunch, dinner) that I prepare for my little Alex (he’s 7 months now) has the same food categories:
vegetables + proteins (either meat, fish or eggs) + carbohydrates (baby cereals) + good fat (extra virgin oil of olives) + extra touch of taste ( 1 tsp grated parmesan cheese). That’s what I call “the Italian mix”
Basically I’m trying to reproduce all the ingredients contained in breast milk 🙂
The vegetable mix can contain as many vegetables as you like (you might just decide which vegetable considering your baby’s age).
I usually mix 3/4 veggies at a time and I double the quantity of 1 veggie because I want a flavor to pop up. One day it will be zucchini, the following carrots..if you mix a lot of veggies you will have a more blended flavor. so, as you can see, it’s just a matter of flavors, not nutritional factors.
I hope I was helpful, let me know if you have any more questions!!
ciao ciao
