Nutella Oat Bars – little bites of full energy

Nutella Oat Bars. I would define this recipe a “decadent energy treat”. It’s very easy to prepare and it received triple thumbs up from the kids, as you can imagine. 🤣🤣

But it also received thumbs up from me. Not overly sweet, enriched with chia and hemp seeds, a great after school or sport snack. Easy to prepare, freezes well too!

Moderation is the key. A little bit of everything, makes everything easier. 😉

Ingredients:
🌈 1 cup flour
🌈 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
🌈 3 Tbsp chia seeds
🌈 3 Tbsp hemp seeds
🌈 1 tsp baking soda
🌈 2 tsp vanilla
🌈 10 Tbsp butter (or coconut oil)
🌈 4 Tbsp sugar
🌈 pinch of salt
🌈 from 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup Nutella or chocolate spread of your choice
🌈 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips

PROCEDURE

Mix all the ingredients together with the exception of Nutella and chocolate chips.
Spread 1/2 mix in a small baking dish (I used a 6×8 inch Pyrex). Press well with a spoon to compact the mix.
Bake to 350F for 10 min.
Spread delicately the Nutella on top and sprinkle the chocolate chips.
Cover with the remaining half of the oat mix.
Press gently with a spoon to compact the top layer.
Bake to 350F for additional 15 min.
Let cool down completely before cutting in small square bites. Store in the fridge to get nice and firm bars.

Let me know in the comments if you try it!
Be careful, can be addictive! 🤣😂
A small cube in the morning with your coffee is the best treat!
