Hi! Yes, you can use formula milk instead of whole milk, just be aware that formula milk will lose its nutritional value when you bring it to a boil. An alternative will be to use coconut milk. Let me know if your little one likes the recipe!! ciao, b

In this recipe if I add formula milk instead of whole milk( since my baby is 7mnths) , then is it OK to cook formula milk?

Hi Fatimah!
Cooking reduces nutrients in foods, but not by much. High heat can cause some vitamins to breakdown. Cooking does not significantly change most other nutrients, such as fats, minerals and fiber. Also, as we are cooking for babies, cooking makes food more digestible.
One thing to remember is that much more important than cooking is the freshness of the foods. The amount of vitamins an apple has when is picked up from the tree is significantly different from when it has been shipped to the store, refrigerated for some days, sold and kept in our refrigerators for days. That’s why, if possible, I deeply recommend to buy fresh fruit and veggies from the local farmers market and use them within few days. That helps keeping more vitamins in our food, even with cooking.
Regarding this recipe, the cooking time is due to the rice. It needs at least 15/18 minutes to cook.so, yes, you will loose some vitamins, but not tremendously. I hope I was helpful, let me know if you have any other questions! have a lovely day, ciao. barbara
