Strawberry banana bites

It only takes 10 minutes to create a fun and healthy after school snack for your kids. I tried these strawberry banana bites and the kids LOVED them! ….maybe because fruit and chocolate it’s always a winning combination 😉

The strawberry and banana bites are also a nice idea for a kids party. Just keep in mind that it is better to prepare the bananas max two hours before serving them as the oxidation process will turn them brown very quickly. Also, the whipped cream should be added at the very last moment, when you serve the banana bites as it will melt quickly too.

In order to keep the strawberries on top of the whipped cream for more than 5 minutes – in my case I needed to take the final beauty shots 😉 – I inserted a toothpick in the strawberries. It works!! Just remind the kids/guests that there is a toothpick there 😉

Strawberry banana bites
Servings: 8 banana bites
Ingredients
  • 2 bananas
  • 3 oz. chocolate chips 80gr.
  • 1 oz. multicolor sugar pearls or any other sugar decoration you like
  • 1 whipped cream can you can always prepare your whipped cream from scratch, it's even more delicious!!!
  • 8 strawberries
Instructions
  1. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe container for 1 minute (I used glass) and melt them.
  2. Peel the banana and cut it in 4 pieces, remove the sides.
  3. Place the multicolored sugar pearls in a small cup.
  4. Half dip each banana cylinder fist in the chocolate and than in the sugar pearls.
  5. Place the banana bites to dry on a parchment paper.
  6. To speed up the drying process you can place the banana bites in the refrigerator for 10 minutes
  7. Right before serving the strawberry banana bites display the banana/chocolate cylinders on the serving tray. Spray one tablespoon of whipped cream on the banana bites and top them with a beautiful strawberry.
  8. Trick: if you do not want the strawberry to slide away from the bananas you can use a toothpick to "fix" them to the bananas. Just remind the kids or your guests about it!!

Hi Gina! first of all THANK YOU! for following BuonaPappa 😉
Unfortunately if you change your email the website will not be able to send you alerts to the new email. Technically there is no link between the old email and the new email, so the system doesn’t have any algorithm in order to automatically redirect the alerts to the new email. The newsletter alert is not like a personal account where you have a page with all your details that you can change or update. It is just a simple list of emails to which the website system delivers alerts every time I post something new.
Let me know if you have any problem receiving the alert emails.
Thank you again for watching!!! ciao, b
